Our first grandchild is due January 23rd, 2007. 2007 will be the centenniel of my mother's parents arrival in America. My son, August, and his wife Rachel work at the Coast Guard Station at Staten Island. My grandparents passed by Fort Wadsworth on their way to Ellis Island. Everything goes full circle...

The last ultrasound did not indicate whether our grandchild is a girl or a boy. Rachel, Grandma Linda and I all jumped to the conclusion that this display of modesty must indicate that the baby will be a girl. Yesterday a new test and guess what? That's right It's a boy!!! So now the women in this family can no longer claim women's intuition-- we'll just be ignored. Mischievious little guy already. This is going to be fun-- I can't wait to meet him.
